Waves of Time | Chapter One: Where's Bella?

BELLA's STORY:


As an iconic character of The Sims, Bella's story has intrigued me as I only played The Sims 4. Her story from The Sims up to The Sims 3 didn't have a really conclusive ending. Most of the alternate endings I came across focused around Bella's disappearance being either due to her alleged infidelity or her fascination with the occult that would lead to her abduction. Her abduction and death had been both confirmed by the sims team, but I wanted to have a deeper, more meaningful story of what really happened to Bella.

CHAPTER ONE: WHERE'S BELLA?

This chapter introduces us to Bella and Mortimer Goth as they prove how love transcends time and space.

 BELLA

We talked about our future and how glad you were that we were finally married. 


I could see the gleam in your face and the odd tinge of sadness in your eyes.  


But the lie escaped your lips like sand washed away by the waves...


You've always had that mystery in you that drew me deeper into you...


made me chase you...

want you...

cling to you...

The thing is, up to that moment, I was clueless...


or perhaps in denial about something that just wasn't right...


and then it happened...


I can never accept you'll leave me here just like that...   


I had to sell my soul to the devil just to bring you back...


But even the devil seemed to not listen...


The nights were the hardest...


I just missed you terribly I thought I would die...


The only place I could be happy is with you...


But where do I find you?


And how?


Then out of the blue, you came...


I was so happy to see you...


But there was something different about you...


It was only when you sealed our love for eternity that I truly understood...


With your every touch, I felt more alive...


With your every kiss, I felt unspeakable joy...


I had never yearned for you as much as I did that night you came back to me...


And I basked in the thought that I was never gonna lose you again...


My forever...my Mortimer...


MORTIMER

I woke up, still intoxicated with your scent...


I wanted to tell you how happy I was to be with you...


But there was no sign of you anywhere in the house...


I waited for you...


And waited...


I could not make sense of it...
you leaving me now that we can finally be together forever...


Why did you leave me, Bella?


Where did you go?


I don't know the answers to those questions...
but what I do know is that I did everything in my power just to bring you back to me...


I searched for you everywhere...


In every corner...


In every street I know...
In every place that reminded me of you...


I kept searching for you...


Vowed to never give up...


Until my last breath...



100 YEARS LATER...



BELLA

How did you know about my whole life?


About the reason for my very existence?


And how everything should end?


We barely even started and barely knew each other...


Yet when you approached me, you talked to me as if you'd known me all your life...


You said I reminded you of someone you knew,
and that someone was why you wrote the book...


The book you were so eager to show me...


But you left in such a hurry leaving the book on your desk.


Out of curiosity, I took it and thought I'd read it
while waiting for Mortimer to get done with his practice.


I had heard so much about how great a professor you were,
but the book intrigued me just by its title alone:

"Where's Bella?"


It was catchy not only because it had my name in it,
but also because it sounded like a love story written by a Science professor.

More than the question of "where", I wanted to know who Bella was.

And it happened...


My curiosity got the best of me.


This can't be real...





These visions that seemed like flashbacks and flashforwards cannot be real...
