Chapter 3: Tremoulíasma

Persephone's sweat filled the air like the scent of blooming iris across the sun-dappled garden.

Hades' dark eyes instantly fixated on the source of the alluring scent.

There, amidst the flowers, stood Persephone, her beauty rivaling the goddess of flowers herself.

A pang of yearning struck Hades, swift and sudden. He had found his queen, but alas, Demeter, fierce and protective, watched over her daughter like a hawk. There was no way he could get near Persephone, so he vanished back into the underworld, upset.

He could not accept his defeat, hence, he gathered all his strength and with a surge of desperation, he willed the earth to obey, sending shockwaves crashing outwards.

The flowers swayed wildly, petals scattering like frightened butterflies. Persephone panicked.

She stumbled, the tremor growing even more violent. Rushing to escape, she tripped, and then accidentally fell between the cracks of the earth.

Meanwhile, Gaia captured Ouranos with the help of Kronos.

She did not get the support of the other gods and became very suspicious of Krios, Iapetus, Koios and Hyperion who she thought were responsible for the death of Okeanus. With them getting weaker and losing all their powers, they were helpless and at Gaia's mercy.

She tricked them by saying she has captured the culprit and lured them into her dungeon.

She then burned Ouranos at stake so he will suffer a slow painful death.

Gaia's laughter echoed as flames engulfed Ouranos, his screams faded in the still of the night. Gaia's vengeance was complete, but what new seeds of distrust had she sown amongst the gods?
