Chapter 15: Anikanótita

Although their relationship was born out of Hera's desire for revenge,
Morpheus had come to love Athena for who she was.
He admired her intelligence, her strength, and her beauty.

On their first night together, he was overwhelmed by his desire for her.
He wanted nothing more than to make love to her and show her how much he cared.

But unfortunately, there was one problem: his impotence.

Morpheus had struggled with this issue for a long time,
but he had never faced it with someone he cared about as deeply as Athena.
The heat emanating from her skin and the pounding of her heart were too much for him to handle.
He just had to let her go.

His ego was too big, and he couldn't admit his inadequacy to her.
Instead, he chose to push her away without explaining to her why,
thinking that it was better to hurt her in this way than to reveal his secret.

Athena was devastated by Morpheus's rejection.
She couldn't understand why he would push her away like that.
She had thought that they had something special between them,
something that could have grown into a beautiful relationship.
But now, she was left feeling confused and hurt.

She needed answers, so she went to see Morpheus' brother, Hephaestus.

Hephaestus was a god known for his wisdom and his kindness.
Athena hoped that he could shed some light on Morpheus's behavior and help her make sense of it all.
While in Hephaestus's presence, she felt safe and comforted.
He listened patiently to her story and tried to offer her some guidance.

It was then that Hephaestus remembered the truth about Morpheus's impotence.
He had known about it all along, but he had kept it to himself, not wanting to embarrass his brother.

Hephaestus felt sorry for Athena, knowing that she had been hurt by Morpheus's rejection.
He tried to console her, telling her that it wasn't her fault
and that she deserved someone who could love her fully.

Athena was grateful for Hephaestus's kindness and wisdom.
She knew that she could always count on him to be there for her.
But as she stayed in Hephaestus's company, she couldn't help but wonder if there was more to his sympathy than just pity.
His touch was so warm and gentle it aroused her.
The way he looked at her at that moment was so intense it melted her inside.
Had he been harboring feelings for her all along?
Athena didn't know, but she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more between them.
She needed an answer, so she kissed him and that was enough to startle Hephaestus.

Athena awakened something in him that he had never felt before.
He didn't want to betray his brother,
but he worried that another rejection from him would devastate Athena.

He debated the thought for a while, until he decided to give Athena what she needed, at least for now.
