Chapter 3: The Red String

"The more widely known concept of a soulmate comes with the idea that we need to search for our other halves. This idea can be attributed to Ancient Greek mythology which tells us that when Zeus created man, that man became lonely. To give him company, Zeus split him in half, creating a companion for him.

East Asian beliefs are much different from that of the Greeks. They believe that the gods tie a red string around the ankles of two people who are intended for one another. This is a string that’s infinite in length and unseen to the naked eye."

So, what happens when these two beliefs are combined?

This chapter begins with Typheus, son of Tartaros, roaming the Garden of Eden in search of his fated mate.
He let out a howl that echoed in the air and then chants a transcendental sound
only his fated mate would be able to grasp the meaning of.

Somewhere another werewolf howls back and sets off to the path
that will lead her to where the howl came from.

Months passed and Demeter had not heard from Zeus after their heated confrontation last time.  She needed closure and she won't lay around waiting for him to give it to her.  She walks out leaving their daughter Persephone alone sleeping.

She decides to visit Themis, the goddess of divine law and order, in search of answers. Themis tells Demeter that the only way she can find closure is to find out the truth for herself.

Demeter knows she cannot confront Zeus directly, so she thought of confronting Dione instead.

Dione had intended to confront Zeus as well,
but their daughter Aphrodite is so beautiful for her to lose temper over a cheater like Zeus.

Meanwhile, Eve is pregnant with another child, but this one was different from her previous two.
She felt her body aching all over, barely able to do chores she used to be able to do with ease.

Eve begins to feel isolated and alone, and her feelings of loneliness only intensify as her pregnancy progresses. She misses the attention and comfort she received from Zeus during her previous pregnancy with Physis. She begins to question whether she made the right decision by choosing to stay with Adam and giving up her life with Zeus.

This chapter ends with Adam wanting to make love with Eve which she refuses saying she not feeling well.
Eve coughs a little and caresses her pillow imagining Zeus beside her instead of Adam.
