Chapter 5: Hecate

Hephaestus and Aphrodite's planned marriage finally happened,
with Hecate overseeing the sacred rites.

Tears welled up uncontrollably in Aphrodite's eyes
as Hecate solemnly pronounced them as husband and wife.
She could not contain the overwhelming rush of emotions she felt within her.

Ares, likewise, was deeply heartbroken losing Aphrodite to his brother
and found the weight of his emotions tearing him into pieces.

Eris, who had initially intended to cause him pain but ended up loving him,
couldn't bear the anguish she felt inside seeing how devastated Ares was.
Despite her love for Ares,
Eris knew she had to proceed with her original plan –
to crush him completely as punishment for his unfaithfulness.

After the wedding ceremony, Eris followed Ares into the depths of the forest,
with the intention of carrying out her evil plan.

Just as she was about to cast a spell on Ares,
Hecate, the powerful goddess known for her mastery of magic,
witchcraft, necromancy, control over darkness, and understanding of monsters,
stepped in to intervene.

This infuriated Eris, and in a fit of rage,
she swiftly attacked Hecate, temporarily sapping her powers.

Hecate swiftly responded with more force and determination.

Hecate, however was unaware that Eris had unwittingly gained tremendous strength
during the time when the Morae had cast a spell to weaken the gods.
This spell had an opposite effect on her and bolstered her power instead.

With her newfound strength and power, Eris ferociously retaliated
which brought Hecate to her knees.
Yet, her new power came at a cost which left her drained of her abilities.
