 AITHER AND HEMERA

Click image to enlarge and see details

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

In Greek mythology, Aether is the primordial god representing light and the clear blue sky. He occupies the space between the solid dome of heaven and the ethereal mists enveloping the earth. In the story of Simanity, Aither ascends to Elysium, a paradise for heroes where they revel in pleasure and are liberated from toil, alongside other deities led by Khaos.

Hemera, in Greek lore, personifies day. As described by Hesiod, she is the daughter of Erebus (Darkness) and Nyx (Night), making her Aether's sister. In Simanity, she retains this identity, heralding the dawn and illuminating the world with her light. Hemera's emergence symbolizes the transition from night to day, embodying renewal and hope in the cosmic cycle.

Together they produce Thalassa, the goddess and personification of the sea.
